The design of this summer residence is derived from the natural gradient of the immediate landscape.
Its structure is composed of two distinct volumes: the first volume is situated at the eastern
part of the site and is at its most part buried in the ground. This volume houses a bedroom and
complementary uses such as bathrooms, building services, utilities and storage spaces and is constructed
by natural stone walls. The second volume, constructed by plastered concrete is developed into two
levels with large openings facing south and houses the living room, dining room and kitchen at
the upper level, as well as three bedrooms at the lower level. The roof of the residence is slanted
with the required pitch so as to install solar collectors which will improve the energy consumption,
while at the same time can heat the swimming pool. The main materials used are natural stone quarried
on site, natural wood, as well as exposed and plastered concrete.
